THE title race looks set for a thrilling conclusion.
The only match to beat the wet weather was the midweek clash between leaders Winterbourne United and bottom side Wick – and Winterbourne did their title hopes a power of good by winning 4-0 thanks to doubles from Kieran Williams and Liam Robson.
That gives them a five-point lead over second-placed Gala Wilton, who have two games in hand. Yate Town are level on points with Gala, having played two matches more.
The crucial fixture between Gala and Winterbourne has yet to be played. A Winterbourne win would seal the title, but a draw or a defeat could let in Gala, whose other two gamea are Wick (home) and Cheltenham Saracens (away).
