Rising Restrictions, Oil Costs Could Dramatically Drive Down Electric Battery Costs

A newly released study suggests that the cost of lithium-ion batteries used to power today's electric vehicles could drop in price by as much as 70% over the next dozen years. The study, conducted by global management consulting firm McKinsey & Co, concluded that ever rising fuel costs and the increased fuel economy regulations being put upon gasoline driven vehicles will drive automakers into developing and producing a much higher percentage of these alternative fueled automobiles.
