Judge Blocks Injunction Against Implementing Louisiana Vouchers

A Louisiana judge has ruled that he will not block attempts to implement Louisiana's controversial voucher system, which is set to go into effect Aug. 1. District Judge Tim Kelley claimed that he did not have jurisdiction to provide the injunction sought by the voucher program's opponents, citing a state law prohibiting judges from blocking policies that state officials claim will create a deficit.
